Made in 1932, Vernon was the last Ramsome's traction engine ever built.
Oban to The Peak District
Starting on 14th May 2026. Vernon, The last Traction engine ever made by Ransomes, and his friends Nelson & Queen Mary are visiting Oban.
On Monday 18th May, they will set off from The Cuilfail Hotel at Kilmelford to travel over 300 miles south towards home in the Peak District.

WE DID IT!!!!
Vernon and The Queen Mary arrived home and had a huge party to celebrate, complete with bagpipes.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Our current total is around £7000 so we are extremely chuffed.
Chris, Vernon’s owner was interviewed yesterday for the BBC so look out for us on TV at 6.05 tonight.
I’ll be uploading loads of photos and videos tomorrow once everything is unpacked and charged so come back to see those.
